Hi all. I have confirmed that this programmer will work with the V2 openservo.

Kanda STK200

I also managed to make my own cheap STK200 using only 4 components

Both buffered and unbuffered designs work.

I programmed it using AVRDUDE in the latest winavr.

The latest WinAVR doesn't have the Atmega168 in there, so you will have to copy/paste the code from this URL into avrdude.conf

Hope this helps.

Yes, bootstrapping with the STK500/200 works. But you didn't program the Servo yet, you need to download the application.
